Terms of Use

1. Subject of the Contract

MyLocalSafe is locally operating software for the encrypted storage of passwords and documents. Processing and encryption take place exclusively on the user's device.

No access to contents: The provider has no technical access to contents of the digital safe (e.g. passwords or stored files). No server-side storage of these contents takes place.

Other data processing: Independently of this, technical or personal data may be processed in the course of use (e.g. through Google Play Billing, crash reports or support enquiries). Details are governed by the privacy policy.

Security architecture: Encryption is carried out, according to the current state of the art, exclusively locally on the user's device.

2. Master Password & User Responsibility

The master password is processed exclusively locally and is not known to the provider. Recovery is technically not possible.

The user is solely responsible for:

• the secure storage of the master password
• regular backups of exported safe files (e.g. as a password-protected ZIP archive)
• securing access to their devices

3. Rights of Use

The user is granted a simple, non-exclusive, non-transferable right of use for the app on their own end devices.

This right of use exists as long as the app is offered and technically supported by the provider.

Decompilation, reverse engineering or other unauthorised editing is not permitted, except where mandatorily permitted by law.

4. In-App Purchases & Google Play Billing

The app is free of charge. Optional premium features can be acquired as a one-time in-app purchase.

The purchase is processed via the Google Play Billing system. The terms of Google additionally apply. The purchase contract is concluded between the user and the provider and is handled via Google.

Price: one-time 14.99 EUR (including statutory VAT).

5. Right of Withdrawal for Consumers

Consumers generally have a statutory right of withdrawal in distance contracts.

You have the right to withdraw within 14 days without giving reasons. The period begins with the conclusion of the contract.

Expiry of the right of withdrawal

The right of withdrawal expires prematurely for digital content if the user expressly consents that execution begins before the withdrawal period expires and confirms the loss of the right of withdrawal.

Consequences of withdrawal

In the event of withdrawal, payments will be refunded within 14 days using the same means of payment.

6. Liability

The provider is liable without limitation in cases of intent and gross negligence as well as in cases of injury to life, body or health.

In cases of ordinary negligence, the provider is liable only for the breach of material contractual obligations (cardinal duties) and is limited to foreseeable damage typical for the contract.

Liability for data loss is excluded insofar as it is not based on intent or gross negligence.

A guarantee for permanent availability or freedom from defects is not assumed.

7. Changes to the Terms

The provider may adapt these terms of use in case of technical, legal or functional changes. The respective current version is available in the app and on the website.

8. Final Provisions

German law applies under exclusion of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG). Mandatory consumer protection provisions of the country of residence remain unaffected.

Place of jurisdiction is — to the extent legally permissible — Munich.

We are not obliged and not willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings.

Should individual provisions be invalid, the remainder shall remain valid.
